I found this on the bank of a California creek. I don't believe it is an area known for jasper or rocks for that matter, so I'm intrigued as to what it is. It looks like some kind of jasper to me. Comparing it with photos I found online, it looks a little similar to morrisonite.
I managed to get small pieces off with my tile saw, which I tumbled. It polishes well with intricate details, which I really liked. Any idea what it is?
