Found this 5-30-16 in my field. Posted here before. This is why I always turn over everything I find in my fields. What I saw. There was only a couple of inches sticking up. It was covered in dirt. This shown cleaned. Other side after cleaning. The bottom. The tan areas appear to be chert/jasper. White areas in first two photos are quartz. I love the gray/white agate formations on the bottom. There is so much going on with this rock. It could be an agatized coral nodule, as the upper portions look like local coral fossils. Overall size is about 3.5" by 3".

Will you slice it? I bet it is outstanding inside. Keep flipping those rocks!

I dunno. The agate formations do not appear to be that deep. Might take one slice off and hope it survives.

I actually remember seeing this rock before...it's pretty amazing (read that as sad) when you know you recognize seeing a single rock amongst the millions you've looked at! LOL
I'm not sure I would slice this one...I don't know why not, other than it's kind of cool as a whole...
