Elegant wrap. man that moss has some depth, very pretty piece. Thanks, I wasn't sure if I left too much wire on the top, but it's a good sized cab. It is a nice piece of stone, I really like it.

Odd. I responded to this a week or two ago but instead of hitting "post quick reply", I must have hit the 'reply' button afterwards and my comments were lost. Actually, going through this forum there are a bunch of my posts that never got ... posted! Doh!!
Well, I like this one a lot. Yes, it is dark, but it is a great example of moss Agate. I am glad that you left it in its large size rather than cutting it down to a really smaller cute rock that would probably have a lot less going on inside of it than this. This one has a little bit of everything going on.
But my original comment was likely about the bail and bail accents that you used at the top. The 4 wire bail is hard for me to do. I like it because I haven't even done 1 attempt yet. and the swirl part with the accent wire around the bail is cool. So cool that I tried to replicate it last week during a wrap and failed. I took it apart, but will try again.
Maybe it would be best if I tried by using square wire rather than round. Your square wire is bent in ways that makes it look like ribbons on top of a present (in my opinion). I am going to try to replicate it.. again. Wish me luck.

Thanks, Bill, I appreciate the compliments! This cab does have some really dark reds and greens, but it was a beautiful slab. Square wire just seems to work best for me- but I have so much further to go. I consider every wrap I do to be practice, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. It's so funny, I think your wraps way outclass mine, even though that I know each person has their own individual style.
I've tried to do prongs several times and failed miserably...

I've tried to do prongs several times and failed miserably... I like how you mention that all of your attempts are practice. I think exactly the same thing before every one. Well, I try to. That way the pressure is off of me if I end up with a dumb looking one. All of my rocks are pretty dumb looking, so it doesn't really matter any way. Except when my sister sends me her nice rocks. Then I feel PRESSURE!!
I think your wraps look like cohesive art to me. I think that Jason was right when he mentions that we are all our own worst critics. It is a good thing that you take pictures of your attempts. Some day you can look back on them. Tela mentioned that in one of my posts once and it stuck.
