I just posted a video to YouTube showing my Petoskey Stone tumbling procedure. This method was developed right here on RTH with the help of mibeachrocks. I think the video does a pretty good job of showing what I do. There are a lot of Michiganders wanting to polish Petoskey stones (it's our state stone) and most people will tell you it's not possible. I hope this video is helpful for those folks.

Rob,
My wife and I had questions about tumbling Yooperlites and Petoskey stones. You've now covered both rocks.
We really appreciate your instructional videos. You are a gifted teacher.
Thank you!

Rob, this is the first time I've seen/watched a video utilizing a dry tumble! Thank you for posting this...as always, I love your videos!

I always enjoy the slideshows at the end Rob. This transformation slideshow was the best one yet. Awesome job. By the way, would you Michiganders please quit hogging all of the Petoskeys? We're a little light on this side of the lake .

When I'm taking all those pictures, I'm always a little worried that it's not going to turn out quite how I imagined.

I missed this video. Just came into some Yooperlite.
This would be my first time dry polishing anything. Would you recommend my trying the process out with some other softer rocks first? Thanks.

I have really only done it with Petoskeys. I don’t see any reason not to start with them. Merry Christmas.

No, Petoskey Stones have to be tumbled by themselves. Yooperlites tumble like most other rocks. Petoskey Stones take a lot of special care.
