This is an unused Poly Arbor by Poly Products of Monrovia, Calif. This arbor was part of that large stash of new-old-stock Poly Arbor products I purchased out of the estate of a deceased machinist/lapidaryist a few years ago that some of you long time RTH members may remember.
This model Poly Arbor is ideal to use for a Flat Lap as the 1/2" diameter threaded arbor will accommodate the standard commercial 1/2" bored diamond grinding, sanding and polishing laps. The unit measures 8-1/2" overall in length and is 4" in diameter at the cast mounting ring. The mounting holes are spaced 2-1/8" center-to-center. The threaded arbor end is 1/2" in diameter and the keyed arbor shaft is 5/8" in diameter. Also this arbor has 1-3/4" diameter machined flange & flange washer.
General Information About Poly Arbor Products (from previous listings)
For four decades Poly Products made quality arbors for use in lapidary and other craftsmen's work. Additionally, their various arbor bearing housings and arbor shafts were utilized by other brands of lapidary equipment makers including but not limited to some models of Frantom slab saws, and Crown Diamond lapidary products. Poly Arbor Products were also a favorite among homemade equipment builders for lapidary, wood working, glass grinding, and machinist work.
Poly Arbor Products were originally manufactured in Pasadena, California in the 1940s and later moved to Monrovia, California (also at some point they had a facility in Venice, California). Sometime around the late 1970s the company was acquired by Raytech Industries who then moved the manufacturing of the Poly Arbor products to Connecticut. I have yet been unable to verify it but I believe that production of the Poly Arbor Products ceased in the late 1980s which apparently was around the time that Lyman Products acquired Raytech Industries.
The price of this arbor is $48.00 plus $13.60 shipping via USPS medium flat rate box anywhere in the U.S.. If interested in purchasing then private message me your email address and I will send you a Pay Pal invoice.
