So, so, so glad I got a vibratory. Holy cow. Here's a quick shot I took of some different batches from my last couple vibe runs. Some of these might go back for another clean since I can see some residue but wow. I am ecstatic. Thank you to jamesp and Drummond Island Rocks for sharing great information and your inspiring results. Chuck, my husband now knows you as the guy who makes "rock porn" because how much I love your photos, sorry about that. I guess there is something to these fancy tumblers after all!

Sounds like we got you hooked now. No turning back. The photography can be just as tricky as the tumbling.

The speed and ease of monitoring progress are real advantages to the vibratory tumblers. Most of my initial material was beach cobble and hence was already rounded and in no need of a rotary. By selecting your stones carefully, and or doing a bit of preshaping you can process material "rapidito". Enjoy the vibes.

Who doesn't like some "rock porn"!!! I have no patience/desire to learn all that needs to be learned for photography either! That's why I've asked (read that as conned) my dad to take pics for me pretty soon.

I'm roping in a friend; he's all about cameras and focal lengths and zooms and whatever other camera jargon there is. I just want to know "Will it look good?".

Anxious to see photos of fine tumbles Mel . Welcome to a great hobby and a group of special folks. Thanks jamesp. I'm so glad you convinced me to get a vibratory, love it. I always inwardly snicker when I tell non-rock people about having a 5 pound vibe. Yeah, I'm secretly 12. Shhh.

That's a given lol. The vibe is a game changer in terms of quality and time savings. They require much less abrasives too. Anyone serious about rock tumbling should have one. They probably pay for themselves in saving electricity.
