Hey all!

I'm pretty new to the tumbling/collecting hobby having only been doing it for about eleven months now. I found the hobby and this forum thanks to Michigan Rocks on YouTube. I'm from Chicago, but have been living in Michigan off and on for the past few years due to school. I've really enjoyed the variety in Michigan so I hope to get back there soon. I started tumbling about a month before quarantine started, and have finished around five batches from rough to polished since then. I am getting more and more satisfied with the outcomes as I learn the dos and don'ts. I use a Lortone 3a rotary tumbler, and get my grit from The Rock Shed. I'm continually surprised at the results I can get from my little tumbler and am looking to throw my name into the Worldwide Rock Tumbling Contest this year. I doubt I'll win just judging the competition, but just entering and trying it will be a blast! Right now I've been tumbling a batch of Bahía Agates in the rough grit for the past 5-6 weeks!

Welcome to the RTH from the Desert Southwest, Chandler! Well, you do have quite a jump on things with almost a full year of tumbling experience under your belt! It is pretty amazing how cool the average ordinary rock can look once you put a good polish on it. I would know this because all I have ever found is average ordinary stones!
