Well hubby found my cab - it was in the freezer to get off the remaining dop wax. The first pic is of an oval I'm working on - I only got as far as rough shaping it I had to call it a day as I said I was only gonna be gone for a short time as to drop of my membership at around 11AM and I left there at 2PM. Is this leopardskin jasper? It's quite pretty lotsa pinks and mostly yellow/oranges for the oval one This one is the kite shaped one - it seems to have more pinks & reds - I like them both - this one is still a little rough, I rushed the 400 & 600 grits without really knowing how to know when to move on, I just wanted to see what it looked like (I also had problems with the valley in the grinding wheel)- I'll probably bring it back to 400 grit or maybe I'll shape it up more next time. I was trying for a dome I'll post a picture if I ever finish it & get it polished up Thanks for looking

WOWSER TWEET!!!!!!! Talk about coming a long way quickly!!!! Outstanding!!! Leopardskin Jasper can be difficult as the orbs are a different hardness and they just don't polish up easily! Congrates on some wonderful work- You have earned your Godhood on these!

I found while rounding out the oval that the back was chiping away, I figure I'd deal with that later once I get it shaped up good. No shine on either of them as I hadn't gotten that far yet - You can still see the outline of the aluminum pencil on the oval It helps immensely when you start off with a nice flat piece of rock & a template!

Yes it does- Oh and the shine advise was for future reference- You'll see in about 2 or 3 more steps

great work, Tweet, Leopardskin isn't the easiest to start with either as it does tend to be a mixed hardness stone. but it DOES polish beautifully. i'm so glad you found a place to cut and grind rock!!!
