Hey all. I picked up some laguna agates from Bearcreek a while ago and decided to tumble some of them. Really cool stones to tumble. The longer they grind away, the more revealing they get. this one has clear-like bubbles inside Light colored bubbles inside the rest of the batch poppy jasper-fractured again that's it for now Ed

Ooooooo you have some beautiful stuff there. Love the red and white in the 4th pic and that blue/white stone in the 5th pic, do you know what it is? That bubble rock is so neat, I have one that's kind of amber colored that shows the exact same thing. I wanted to post a pic but couldn't get one where it showed up, great job on this one.

That is some really nice looking stuff. Love all the colors! I've never tumbled any Laguna Agates..but am fortunate enough to have one in my small, modest collection. Steve

Ace job, Ed! Those are some great stones. Out of the whole batch, I think my favourites are those red and white speckled ones...what are they?
I hear poppy jasper is always fractured, so nothing you can do about that, and you did a great job shaping and shining. I really like the poppy patterns.
Fifth pic down, what is that neat looking big stone with the blue bottom, then layered white with blue dots above? Is it the same as that mixed pastel coloured rock directly above it in the 4th pic? Some really great material at any rate!

Beautiful batch Ed, you really let them run untill they were ready to move to the bext stage. I so admire that. In pic 2 I notice there is a little orb on your finger... someone is watching out for you and very proud! Run the poppy jasxper in a borax wash for 24 hrs. If that isn't enough, back up to 1000 or tripoli, borax, polish, and borax agin. I bet the fractures will either be gone or unseen.

Hey all. Thanks for the comments. The red and white is more of the koi jasper and the blue/white in the fifth pic is from a bag of rocks I got at the local rock show labeled "misc jaspers". It is a cool looking rock, but I'm afraid that's all I can tell you about it.
Has anybody tried tumbling the mex lace from Arkierockhound(trish)? I've got some going in 60/90 and it is looking very cool. I'm getting alot of the usual lace patterns typical of mex lace, but instead of being white nad opaque, alot of it is on a transluscent type material. Can't wait til it's done.

One little endcut of Arkies got into a barrel- Amazing stuff- So much more solid than I thought it would be- I was hoping to tumble a lot of it- But it cuts so nice that I've been slabbing it up- I have over 30 slabs cut up already and I have not even cut HALF of the stuff there! Even the endcuts are finding there way to the cabbing pile! I'm having trouble with the Opalized wood- it is tough to cut (I think it is clogging the saw) and does not want to get in the tumbler (again just too pretty and too solid) So it looks like that too will be cabbing material! My wife even said that We (WE? WE WHO? WE NOTHING IT IS MY ROCK!) should have ordered a lot more of the lace- If arkie ever gets it again- I'm getting a lifetime supply!

Very nice Stoner! I like the blue pyramid-shaped rock with the dendrites- is it amethyst sage?
