I got up this morning and decided to take the challenge of make a ring sized cabochon one step further. I spent a couple hours setting it in silver. Getting the bezel to fit right took me three tries and trying to hold the ring in perfect location to solder to the bezel is not easy. It ended well and is a very wearable piece of jewelry. Photographing these small items adds an added challenge as well. 14mm round moss agate Thanks for looking Chuck

Thanks. Far from perfect but it is a very wearable piece. I am pretty shocked at how good the circle shape held. Even cabbing 25mm circles can be a pain so I thought for sure 14mm would be horrible. It fits my pinkie finger good so I left it on when I went out today. I guess I have never worn a ring that sticks out before because it drove me crazy not being able to put my hand in my pocket without it catching every time. Chuck

Don't be giving anyone any ideas about stepping up the monthly cab challenge! LOL
This cab was just flat out amazingly beautiful...and now it looks even better in it's new home! Fantastic job on both the ring...and not losing it while trying to put your hands in your pockets! LOL

I don't like to wear rings. I don't even wear a wedding ring. DH does, but I don't.
I have some small stones to set once I get smithing again. It'll be like starting from scratch once I get back to it. *sigh*

I know it is the result of lots of hard work and a great eye, but you really do make it look easy! That was a beautiful cab and now it looks perfectly at home in that setting. Well done!

That turned out great, Chuck. Will your wife wear it? Thanks Rob. Wife turned it down. Said it was a little chunky. That's alright though as it was just a goofing around project. Eventually we will be able to family get together's again and I am sure a family member will end up with it. Chuck

Wow that's very nice Chuck! I love seeing the final piece made from a top vote-getter in the contest - we don't see it very often. Unfortunately I lack the finishing skills so my dino-bone will have to wait until I hire someone to finish it ... eventually.

She only wears her wedding ring.

A 14mm cab would get lost in my shop in a hurry. Chuck
