This is a batch of apache tears that I got from Banjo last year. There was a good mix of sizes. I like apache tears because the process is relatively quick compared to agates and jaspers. Process was 2-3 weeks 60 grit 1 week in 120/220 1 week in 500 1 week in tripoli 2 weeks in cerium oxide. I checked after one week and the shine did not seem to be there, so I left them in a second week. Last night, they still did not look that shiny with indoor lighting, but outside...the rocks did shine! Cal

Beauties, Cal. I have a batch of tears from Burro Creek that I finished a while back - the Burro Creek tears are not translucent like the ones from the Superior area, but some of them are banded. Nice anyway. Susan

Those are beautiful, what a great shine. I sure hope mine turn out that nice. Perfect timing for them Cal, I was just asking about the do's and don'ts for tumbling tears. Thanks!! (and yes, it's nice to see you here.)
