I only wish I knew where this rock came from because I'd go find more. Wasn't expecting much when I cut into it but I really like what I found.

It looks like a copper ore. Red and black two different forms of copper oxides. The pale area being matrix.

I once had some rocks tested for silver content and one 5 lb ore was 50% platinum. For the life of me, I couldn't remember where it came from. Since then, I lost track of it. I think it ended up in my garage and from there put into my garden when my daughter cleaned out my stuff for a place to hang out and work on her ATV, motocross bike and snowmobile. I really have to metal detect my garden to find the rocks she dumped there.

Decades ago, my uncle briefly worked on the RR. Saw some massive quartz crystals, the stuff of dreams. Wanted to go back after them. Couldn't remember where he saw them... and still can't.

They're the funniest thing I've ran across since I found out way back when that the Flat Earth Society has members all around the globe!

I don’t know why people go on and on about the many joys of becoming a parent when the only thing that really matters is officially being able to tell dad jokes.
