Nope...I have one wife who would put ALL my "rocks" in a vise if that were to happen! LOL I'm sorry, if you are married disregard my advice. In that case, you would not want more than two girlfriends into your rocks. In my prior post I originally typed out "just in it for your rocks." I revised it to avoid the sexual innuendo, but since you have nevertheless gone in that direction... If the door's left wide open... I'm gonna walk through it! LOL Thanks for the chuckle tonight.

Wow! Nice job Jason! More push for me to get out and cab...though I did cut about 20 preforms today so that's a start.
I like #3 the best; the white area just seems to flow so nicely through it.
I'm partial to thicker girdles too. Seems a shame to have just a sliver of rock you know? I think they suit a lot of different jewelry styles, and you can always grind them down if you want them thinner.

We had a break in the cold today, so I had a couple pieces of Kaleidoscope Prism Stone that I wanted to get cut up. I got 6 or 7 preforms out of them...I say "or 7" as there's one that is really questionable, but I didn't want to waste the material...just in case it works. LOL Very true on always being able to grind it flatter if necessary...time will dictate the necessity.

These are beautiful colors. I think they came out great! Ok, I am going to ask. The thickness of the sides (from Girdle top to Bezel) is pretty darn thick on these. And the crown is less pronounced that I try to get on most of my good material (not that I have much). Question: Do you have a reason for leaving this part really tall? But you do a good job getting symmetry and sticking to your templates. I mean, they look perfect in that respect. I have a hard time doing this myself. I always get the sides lumpy or something during the shaping process it seems. You have a good eye. I just thought of something maybe I need to wear glasses when cabbing!!

I have absolutely no good reason for the extra thickness on the sides. I think what happened on that one that's extremely thick, is I ground the angle wrong on the first grind of the dome and had to just go with it at that point... I installed an LED Magnifying Glass that has a 3x lens in it so it extends over the cabbing machine. It has made a world of difference with being able to see what the heck I'm doing.

Interesting that you mention this light. I don't see as well as I used to. So when I started wrapping I found that I had trouble seeing the small wire close up. So I bought a set of 2x lens glasses.
They work great and I've used them for over a year now. But I am starting to notice that I get headache when I used them for more than a couple hours.
Also it is dark in the room where I wrap, in the Winter now with the sun on the other side of the house. So I brought in one of my extra Cabking cabbing lights and attached it to the table I am working on.
Now I can see everything ... too well. Now I don't like any of my rocks because I see pits, imperfections, and mishapen stuff. Plus my glasses problem persists.
My wife suggested buying exactly one of these devices that you picture here. I think I might get one. It might at least fix the glasses problem.
Maybe they have a good one at Kingsley North or Rock Shed perhaps.

Heck, I just got mine from Menards. It's like a Home Depot or Lowes.

Thank you for mentioning the source, Jason. I will very likely end up with one to see if it fixes my problem.

Those are great. The girdles are big but would be great for groove wrapping. Way to go, keep up the good work. Thanks Diane! I agree, a couple of the girdles were a bit too big...but I've put on a few pounds since summer and thought a bigger girdle was necessary! (LOL - I don't think 5 pounds counts as a huge weight gain though!) I've put on a few pounds lately too but not yet into a bigger girdle, heck, I don't even bother with a girdle...LOL. Depends on who is putting on the pounds.
