Agreed, nice polish! I like the second one best.

Indeed. Very nice polish. Noreena and mookite are both sedimentary jaspers that require extra attention to get a great polish on. The colorful healed fractures that make it so striking also make it a temperamental PITA when cabbing or cutting.

Noreena is beautiful material. I really like the patterns in that first one. The second one is stunning as well! I've worked one piece of Noreena. I made a shield cab out of it. Out of all the cabs I've made so far (which isn't a ton), it's the one my dad picked out and said he wanted as a hat pin. So, now it's his!

Had a few beautiful slabs and then the next thing I know they're in about 10 pieces lol

New category for the broken slab pieces - micro-cabs. I joke but know people who display micro-crystals. They can have a whole collection in a single letterset printer's tray. Loved the result of the two you salvaged. Good job.

Great polish, especially for Noreena. Very nice cabs. Rockoonz Noreena and Mookaite are, indeed, both sedimentary, but, to me, very different. In my experience Noreena is soft and rarely takes a good polish. Mookaite is more like Oregon picture jaspers: it is so unbelievably hard that it sings on the hard wheels, and there is always one more scratch.

I have been working on some donated mookite. It has hard spots and soft spots. All the mookite I purchased was nice and hard. The Noreena is basically glorified mud. I was very disappointed with the stuff.

I think the hardest stone I ever cut, or seemed to be, was a Mooka. They are, indeed, some hard little buggers. I've always gotten a great polish, too. But, yeah, those scratches.....

Funny, I had no problem with Mooka, but the blade was brand new. My nemesis is Laguna Agate. I have one large rock that I intended to slab and stopped after the first miserable cut. It is still waiting beside my saw for another try. I thought it burned out my blade, but I have cut other rocks since without an issue. Hard as rock.

(sorry for the confusion) The hardest I ever cut with a saw was a MT aggie. I gave up.

Hard? Royal Sahara gets my vote. In the land of sevens, it’s a high seven. : )
Love that first Noreena cab, looks like an old rusty freighter.

Very nice, I like them both but the design capture in the first cab is perfect!

When I saw it yesterday, I was picturing half sunken rusted ships in an aquatic graveyard... So, either I'm not crazy or you and I should both stay away from Rorschach tests! LOL

I can see the problems, and it appears you have done a great job of repairing them. It is disappointing when the nice material falls apart. I think it happens to a lot of us.
The results you have achieved however are quite impressive. They are nicely shaped cabs too!
