Rockjunquie, I do not know what #2 is but it definitely cuts with a very black waste water like psilomelane. This was a very small cab of this material that was recut because of undercutting. The plume took a great polish like other psilomelane but the matrix undercut. I skipped several steps in the vibe and it finished well. I have cut a few pieces I know is psilomelane that was not plumed and they polished well in the vibe. Some of my unknown material came from a big rock pile in a Lajitas, Tx. rock shop. That pile contained both Mexican and Texas rocks mixed together and I don't remember some of what I had when I only bought a small amount 40-50 years ago.
