Tumbled some things for family members, things they donated to the pile. I tossed a few goodies in there as well to fill out the barrels. Jaspers, quartz, blue tiger's eye, a Botswana agate, a few of these zeolite things, other attractive material. They're more into the natural look of the stones, so these went through the process pretty quick. Except for a few I added, most of these saw 3 weeks in 60/90 SiC in the 45C, then in the 33B a week of 120/220 SiC, a week of 500 AO, and 2 weeks of AO polish. Last two stages used ceramics and a sugar slurry.

I guess I really am a cabber. 7 weeks does not seem “pretty quick” to me. Loving the results, though.

Awesome job! I find rotary polish so much more difficult than vibe: Bonus points for you!

Great looking mix! I must have been spending too much time reading through the cabbing section (or really need to wear my glasses more often) because I couldn’t figure out why you marked so many preforms on those rocks! Then I just realized your lighting was playing tricks on my eyes. It’s fun to see how the shapes of the rocks play around with the light.
What are those lighter green rocks in the upper right corner? I like the colors and patterns on those.

Fantastic tumble! Sometimes it's fun to get "donated" rocks from family members who want to see them tumbled. My wife will find a nice prairie agate that she wants tumbled, but doesn't want them tumbled to "perfection"...she just wants it "shiny". My father-in-law will give me a rock and tell me to just toss it in the next batch, but they're usually 4-5" rocks, which take up a ton of room in the Model B! LOL

Jasoninsd, if that is the worst thing to happen I think you are very lucky. Your father-in-law seems to have a reasonable request and trust your skills. The more you do the more you will get. This is very positive.

This is very positive. Oh truly I know it's a positive...he just forgets sometimes it takes a lot of room for a long time. He has done so much for me with regards to getting me permission to hound on private property, I'm more than happy to tumble them for him.

What are those lighter green rocks in the upper right corner? I like the colors and patterns on those. It could be nephrite jade. I think most of those came from Northern WA, and supposedly nephrite jade can be found there. I'm hesitant to say that's "for sure" what it is though. Part of me could lean towards epidote, but again, not sure.

My rock ID’ing skills are terrible so anything better than green with stripes is good information.

Last barrel for the gang came out today. Bottom center is an agate my BiL found. There's a few jaspers scattered around, including that dark green one at the bottom, some blue tigers eye (top left) that I tossed in, some smoky quartz crystal fragments (bottom left) from my adventures in CO, aaaaand some other interesting pieces.

Very nice collection! I love the shine.🤗 Do you know what the gold colored rock in the top center of the pic is?
