Leave the first one as is. It's incredible!!! What is it? I'd cut up the Sonora.

All of them are suitable to be cabbed or left alone. When your goal is selling, the first one would make at least 3 very nice cabs. I don't collect. I have inventory so I would be looking at patterns and shapes to frame them on all of them.
Unless you don't have anything to grind, just keep looking at them until you are inspired.

Just my opinion.....
The agate is a collector piece, no way would I cut it!
However I could justify cutting cabs from the morrisonite.

It would disgrace mother nature to cab the first one. Polish it and proudly display it!!!
I would choose to display the Sonora in a piece of jewelry.
Beautiful stuff!!

I'll chime in on the agate...it begs to be shown in its entirety.

Can't decide whether to cab the slabs or not. Have never seen Brazilian agate that looked like that. I will never have to be Sonora Sunrise rough again. That first one has to stay the way it is. It's absolutely gorgeous!
I would personally cab the other ones.

with both ALL of them on this. Anything less than the whole would not be as spectacular.

Keep the slabs as they are.
Slice a couple of slabs off the "bottom" of the Sonora. Figure out where a nice flat base would be located so the upper part displays best. Slab whatever is below that line so you can have something to cab.
I do a lot of the flat bases on rocks. You can then put a piece of felt on the bottom to make them "furniture friendly" display pieces.

Even though it’s been said, I’ll hire in... keep the slabs as they are. The Sonora could go either way, keepin in mind no more is being mined.

Tough decision on the first slab: either let it as it is, or cab it in very large cabs (only three of them, avoiding that crystal pocket).

I would keep the first piece for display because the shark (with open yellow shark mouth/crystal) is cruising above the reef is a killer. The shark is coming forward.
