It looks like there are speed controls for each barrel, so if you get the 2 barrel version you can control the speed of each separately.
Is that correct?
Can you run just one barrel at a time? In other words, if the speed control is turned all the way down does that side shut off?
Thanks!

Both barrels need to be installed, but you can run just one with material inside. The knobs turn the side on, as well as control the intensity of the vibration. These are wonderful tumblers, and I absolutely enjoy using mine.

Yes, each control is separate. You can have one barrel on high (aggressive) vibration and the other on low. I've had one in polish while the other was in 120/220. As noted above, great machine, I really enjoy mine. I have not tried to run only one barrel, I always have something to run in the other ones but I suspect it might be a balance issue if only one barrel was installed.

Thanks to both of you for the helpful responses. Since I already have a Lot-O double barrel and a Lot-O single barrel, I have decided to try the MT-4 single barrel first. If I like that one, I might sell it and get the MT-10. Your endorsements of the MT-10 should apply to the smaller version, so I appreciate the feedback. There is a lot less information on RTH about these models than the Lot-O, so it's nice to get a few more opinions right before I pull the trigger on a new one.
