So about a month ago the wife just out of the blue told me to stop buying small tumblers, at first i was like "WHAT" but then she said for me to go ahead and buy a big tumbler. so after a few weeks looking i found a Thumlers tumbler model B . i wasted no time loading it up with a bunch of agates and jasper plus some odds and ends i had laying around. i do have a few questions. First who else has this tumbler? Whats the biggest rocks you have tumbles in it and do you have any pics? This makes my 5th tumbler and hoping to get one more big tumbler by christmas.

I got one a couple months ago. I don't have any photos of larger rocks, but I have a chunk of Shattuckite included quartz that is a little larger than a softball, I'd guess, that's been going for about six weeks now. It seems to be doing fine when I check on it, but I'd also guess that I'm going to keep it in rough for another couple months at least.

I could've left it in a lot longer as there's a few flaws on it, but I wanted it as big as possible...and I'm impatient as well! LOL

I think i need to buy one more big tumbler. use one just for bigger rocks, i know i have to tumble different size rocks with it. the other for my bulk stuff. i was looking at a few of the ones lortone has the C40 which is a single 40lb barrel or the C20-2 which has 2 20 lb barrels

FOR ME, I had to be realistic and realize I don't have the quantity of large rocks in order to justify the purchase of another tumbler of that size. Basically, I could only keep it "fed" for a short amount of time before running out of rocks of considerable size that were tumble-worthy. And then I could foresee it just sitting there. Plus I don't really want to be messing with a barrel exceeding 50+ pounds with rocks, water, and slurry... Again, that's just me...

I just got a Thumler's B myself! Am tumbling the Burris Creek Jasper for the tumbling contest as we speak. Had an issue overnight (first night I've run it): When I woke up, there was a horrible scraping noise and I come down to the basement to see the barrel guide rubbing off red paint from the barrel. I stopped everything, moved the location of the base on the floor, and re-shimmed it so everything was level again, and it seems okay now? Hopefully it's all fixed b/c I am stoked to have this thing and the other option I was looking at (the Lortone QT-66) is out of stock for-ev-er. If it works out I definitely plan to try some larger rocks in it and will report back in however many years that takes to happen

I break up my big rocks so that the biggest rock I tumble is about 2". I don't have any new pictures of these but you can look at my avatar. These are about the largest.

I was looking for a QT66 but they are never in stock, the thumlers showed up and i couldnt pass it up. I will eventually get a QT66 one day. Im trying to talk my family into either that or a vibratory tumbler. only thing is i would only be able to use the vibratory tumbler in the summer as i dont have a place to really use it that is heated in the winter. i run all my tumblers in the living room right now. Once we move i can have my man cave i will be all set

I heard this horrible shrieking coming from the garage. I had to put a shim under the back right corner of my unit. I adjusted it until the barrel rode true on the rollers and haven't had an issue since then. I just got a Thumler's B myself! Am tumbling the Burris Creek Jasper for the tumbling contest as we speak. We're hitting temps below zero for the next week and a half or so and I couldn't keep running it in the garage. Thankfully I don't have any rocks ready to go into the UV-18 as I'm in the same boat as you...there's no way I'd want to run the vibe inside due to the noise.
