I wrapped this one in May of last year and have wanted to redo it ever since.
I liked the heart on the first wrap but have found that making a heart is a lot easier with dead soft wire than it is with half hard wire. I need more practice. Or a trick!
It was in nickel and gold before, and knave told me (and I quote) "Donβt take me wrong Mike, I really like the wrap, a lot. But putting that sweet stone in craft wire is akin to... hmm π eating a juicy NY strip steak on a hotdog bun... π
"
And I happened to agree, so I redid it in silver.... Here's a before and after pic, thanks for looking, and comments are always appreciated!

What a huge difference between the two wires. It absolutely changes the look of the whole piece! You are getting so much better at this with every piece you do! And knave should win an award for one of the best quotes!

And it was funny!

Nice Mike, Is that one you got from Ali? Thank you, sir. Yep, that's the same one. I believe that it came from you originally, way back when...

It is amazing how the wire makes such a difference in how the wrap looks. I really like the re-wrap on this one. Much better than steak on a hot dog bun ;-)

I like the heart at the top. It is really creative. I think I need to practice with half-round wire because I like the way it comes out on your ones. I'll never find a rock that looks like this one, so luckily I won't have to worry about wrapping my crummy rocks with my el-cheepo wire. But it is probably a good point.

Unfortunately, that was on the first wrap with the nickel craft wire...it's gone. The only half-round I use is for the bindings, it seems to work well.
This rock was sent to me in the Traveling Rock Box a couple of years ago- and what's funny is that I happen to like your "crummy" rocks and your wraps!

I like the re-wrap of the original a lot. Silver can be harder to work with (no pun intended), but I always like the results. Elegant bends (like bail work) get difficult. That's why I appreciate Tela's work so much. It is very difficult to get smooth elegant flowing framework or bails without marring it all up. The Silver really pops too.

Only advice I have is to be sure the bail wires are straight and not overlapping. Unless, you are going for a "messy wire" style.
You are doing some amazing things with cabs and wore wraps. Love how much more professional your items have become.

Yes, Tela does do some amazing work for sure...and I think the silver looks infinitely better than the nickel craftwire.
I appreciate the compliment, sir!

Love how much more professional your items have become. Thank you, Beth. Yeah, this one was more of the messy bail style. Which basically means I let the wire be the boss. I appreciate the compliment, although I still think I'm in the amateur phase- but maybe someday I'll get there!
