That's gorgeous!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you do the texturing on the base plate? It looks like you put holes in a sheet and then soldered on another sheet to me. It's a very cool look.

Well, the cab is amazing, but the setting is especially nice and a good compliment.

Nipomo marcasite is on my list of favorite materials. What makes a good slab is having a good mix of clear and metallic. What makes yours exceptional is the texturing of the metallic areas.

That's an exceptional cab of that material - the reddish tracings are unusual. Very fine silver work. You have skills.

Hummingbirdstones, For the texturing I chase the base plate with homemade tools (made from old taps). I do this prior to soldering the bezel on. After chasing, the plate will be deformed so you must anneal it and flatten it before soldering the bezel. For this pendant I used the punch on the right

I think that your silver design could be too heavy for some cabs, but it really works well in showing off your exceptional cab. It's a stunning piece!

Hummingbirdstones, Working 30 years in a machine shop has got to be useful for something 😉

I'm nearly speechless. Both the cab and setting are amazing. That is a nice piece of marcasite.
