as I said In other thread I've been cutting a lot of wood collected from san jacinto river in conroe tx. I finished these up today. Unfortunately, a lot of the wood has small spots that undercut or have pitting. tho I dont think it takes away from the look overall. this one has more noticable pitting/undercutting that runs sporadically throughout the material. maybe it's just me but I see a lion with bloodstained mane. and last up is another piece of van gogh styled wood. that's all for now, tho have another dozen or so in the works. thanks for looking!

Nice work! Love the diversity in the gravel finds there; one piece is so different from the next. I've been lucky enough to get a few boxes of that material and it always makes interesting tumbles. Thanks for sharing.

I love these! I think they look great! There's something really special about the visual effects seen in that second cab! I really like the Van Gogh pieces. And yes, I too see the lion!

Love those golden first two. The third one could pass for poppy jasper. Viewing the grain head-on, I suspect...? Way cool, especially with the floaty speckles.
And that last one... with the ghostly eyes... too much. Burls? Knots?
Great work. You said something about under-cutting not being distracting? I’ll have to agree. Those are amazing.

Those are all amazing, but that last one is truly spectacular! Such an incredible pattern and the shape compliments the pattern so well.

I wish the piece was bigger so could have cut with the grain to see what that would have looked like.

I don’t know if you’d get those poppy-like structures otherwise. And the little speckles from the xylem cross-sections are way cool. I wonder, is it palm?
