A pre-thanks for the advice again!
I've been looking as to where I should buy sintered wheels for my cab machine, and I'm down to either Heirloom wheels from Kingsley North, Hans lapidary tool, or Baltic. I have quotes from the latter 2. I could also consider Intec but they are 3 mm vs 5-6mm of the other 3.
Thoughts or pros/cons to any of these? The Kingsley north are quite a bit cheaper and I'm guessing faster shipping etc, but wasn't sure if I am going to be ordering soft wheels from say Baltic - if I should just tag an order sintered wheels on with it, or buy from someone else also.
Thanks,
Grant

I don't know anything about Baltic, but I had a less than awesome experience with Hans several years ago, I hear that they have improved. Kingsley North has never failed me, and has been fantastic with the club shop in Portland,so they're my pick.

I got a sintered 60 from Johnson Brothers. I HAVE had trouble with JB before, but they had the best price and availability, so I took a chance. I got the wheel with no issues, where others didn't even have them in stock.

Grant - after a lot of looking I went with the Inland Lapidary sintered wheel and I've been super happy with it. It's got over a thousand cabochons on it as of 2018 and although things have slowed down recently it's still looking like brand new. Definitely the best investment I've made in lapidary equipment to date.

As I have said before, the heirloom wheels from Kingsley are great. The 80 and 220 that I have are very well balanced and cut consistently. I really can't say enough good things about them, particularly for about the same money as a plated DP wheel. My experiences with other brands is a bit limited, but I just picked up a Baltic 30 grit that was so far out of balance that the grinder and heavy table that it was bolted to were walking across the room. In the interest of fairness, I got the wheel used, so I can't say how it was treated in the past, or what sort of machine it was run on. It took making a tool and a disturbingly large amount of drilling out the core to get it to run smooth, but it does cut fast.

I have Hans sintered wheels and they are good, really good. I have a 60 grit that really gets a hammering but keeps on keeping on, I would have worn out dozens of plated wheels doing the same things. I had a problem with a 50000 belt for my expanding drums that was contaminated . They replaced it no problems.

This is exactly what I needed. DP wheels here are nearly $300 for a Nova, so want to try sintered (was looking at Kingsley but they never seem to be in stock). Thanks for all the info!
