Here's a rock - I quit on it for quite a while - that had one of the best color combos I've seen. I can't remember anything else that actually had green vegetation along with red rocks and blue sky.
A soft spot around 4-5 o'clock, and the dark spot that came up into the sky at 11 o'clock aggravated me so much I stopped. ( jasoninsd - that's why it's not symmetrical.) The material was called "Deer Sky Jasper" by the fellow who mined it.

Vince, I think it's gorgeous!!! Question about the symmetry though since you pointed it out. When a cab is as stunning as this one is, does a wrap (or can a wrap) kind of "cover up" or "correct" the visual appearance of the dissymmetry in the stone itself? (I imagine it can...)

jasoninsd - I'll go ahead and cut it down to a smaller size now that I'm over my littly hissy fit.
It took a year or so to pick it back up, because - for once - I had set out to cut a calibrated 40x30. When that soft spot caused it to flatten out on the right hand side I just got annoyed with it. It will be a perfectly fine non-calibrated oval with a bit more work. That should also (hopefully) let me get rid of the dark spot at the top left.
There were only two slices in the small rough chunk that had the pale greens in the foreground. I was looking for another slice like it for this month's contest when I found this unfinished cab.

Was it like this? Or more like this? (I've been in a position of both of these scenarios! LOL)

Oh, a little of both. Then I pouted every time I saw it for about a year... .

From where I’m sitting it sure does look nice!
I’m also a hyper-self-critical, OCD perfectionist, so I can sympathize well!

Great cab, Vince. I think it’s amazing. Funny how minor “flaws” can drive the creator of the piece crazy, and hardly be noticed by others. I actually like the multi-hued sky.
