 I like the simple naming system on that one. Farfarout makes much more sense than star HR 2061, which is the designated name of Betelgeuse. |

Many of the names and acronyms chosen in science are chosen based on which contrived candidates get the biggest reaction and laughs. Nerds having fun.

It’s entirely possible. David Aguilar, former frontman for The Chocolate Watchband (a quite psychedelic band), became an astronomy professor after leaving the band. |
