I am new to the forum but have utilized the recipes and knowledge gained from here to polish my rocks and occasionally some fossils that we dig up near by at a rock ledge. I currently have four tumblers including a TV-10, QT-6, Lot-o, and a small Dan & Darci. Thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge and experience. My six year old loves the results we can achieve following the guidance from the forums.

Welcome! My 6-year old (and his 9-year old sister) are also having a lot of fun with this hobby. It is a great one to share with kids! I bet the fossils are a bit hit.

brian. The fossils are fun. We live about 10 minutes from a site that has a lot of nautiloid cephalopods. My son loves digging them up. I always leave with a bucket full of them. The challenge with the fossils is to not over tumble them to remove the detail. They take a great polish. Maybe someone on the forum would like a go at them and see what results they get. I am sure I can spare some since they are so easy to obtain.

My kids have done several of the National Geographic fossil “digs” they sell and love them. I couldn’t even imagine how excited they would be if they actually found the fossils themselves!
