Just finished this one this morning- I don't love the bail, but it's how it ended up and I'm moving on to the next! Thanks for looking.

Looks great. My OCD wants the bend at bottom to be centered but love the design

Looks great. My OCD wants the bend at bottom to be centered but love the design Thanks! I see what you're saying, I think I have too little OCD. My cabs are all freeformed and my wraps have no plans- I just kind of let them both take me where they want me to go. Sometimes that's a little too apparent, however! In the picture there's a piece of gold wire at the top of the bail that needed fixed but I didn't notice it until I posted it. It's been fixed...

I really like it Mike! I see what standles was saying about the bindings at the bottom. I was starting to work on one last night and realized I was too tired to accurately center the bottom with the two bindings...tonight might be a different story. I really do like the two-tones with the wires. It looks really look good with the gold accent.

I think the gold works with this cab, too. Thanks again.

Thank you Diane! Still plenty of room for improvement. The last two I tried to do with different cabs ended up getting ripped apart.

Serpentine is one of my favorite rocks. We don’t get that style around here. Thanks.

Awesome. I had to check, just to find out if "serpentine" referred to the rock, or if it was a description of the wrap.

Our club used to go collect a variety called "verde antique" which is a similar color to Mike's. It's been a while, and I never went on any trips, but I seem to remember taht is was somewhere in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I may still have a small slab. If I find it, I'll shoot you a PM.

I was teasing Pat, since it's California's state rock. Essentially, it's a precursor to jade. (it just didn't go deep enough). Often gemmy serpentine that is a little on the harder side is sold as nephrite, and sometimes you get mix (now there's some under-cutting fun). Serpentine is also used as an indicator that there may be gold in the area. VERY RARELY it can be found with stringers of gold
