Cabochon hair clips. Findings are available.
Odd shape symmetrical cabochons. What is the best material to draw on and glue to the back of a cab? Holds up to the water from grinding and can be removed after grinding the shape.

Thin 5mm Willow Creek slab for the hair clip. Ordered some findings. Uneven scrap of WC and drew shape in ink.  Clip will have a low dome and is ready to dop. The other one needs more work with the edge of a wheel before dop.  |

Cool, will be looking forward to seeing how the hair clips turn out. Always looking for some new uses for cabs!

This is an insane attempt.  I have no idea it this even possible for my skill level. Three domes and done on wheels with no carving wheel just the edge. |

The clips arrived today and I epoxied them on. The epoxy was old and I may need to redo them. My wife's objection to the project is the clips may be too heavy. They also might fall off and break. I'll list them on Etsy for $23 each delivered and offer a 60 day satisfaction guarantee to anyone willing to beta test. If the cab or clip breaks send a picture and I will issue a refund. The Willow Creek is 54mm in length 4.5mm in thickness and weighs 9.77 with clip. The Horse Canyon is 50mm in length 4mm in thickness and weighs 9.57 grams with clip.  |
