My cabs go missing all the time. Disorganized and clutter. I had a Riker box of recently completed cabs sitting on a table. I had a bunch of cardboard boxes that needed to be broken down. The armrest of the chair I was sitting on knocked the Riker box off the table which resulted in 3 broken cabs. I picked up some cabs off the floor and put the contents of the broken box in a new one. I sold a old stock Morgan Hill last night and it should have been in the recently completed cabs box, but it wasn't. I moved the table and swept under it.
No luck. I picked up a running shoe that was under the table and a heard a rattling sound. You can figure out the rest of the story.

I've had this happen a few times after I moved in to house. Found them in the most random places after I refunded the customers

I recently found a preform in one of my farm boots. No clue how it got there. I had already put on the boot, so did farm chores. Then removed the preform from the boot. My farm boots are kept way away from my lapidary items.
