Well we will soon find out if I did that Cloudinary stuff correctly! This is my last tumble from 2016! These ran in Tin Oxide polish for a long time (over a year I believe). I do NOT recommend trying this but I'm actually amazed with the Amethyst as it is nearly flawless. No close-ups until I figure all this photo stuff out>

Do you mean that you took those from rough to finished product using only tin oxide polish for the entire run? The results are pretty impressive and that amethyst does look good!

Sorry for the misunderstanding- No they ran through the all the normal stages. 6 to 8 weeks in course; 2 weeks in medium; 1 week in fine; 1 week in prepolish, then they went into polish and ran for about a year! Lots of Pet Wood so the typical issues with some fractures, but over all looks good. Now that I figured out the photo thing I will try to take some time and get some more pix.

So, was this just an experiment, or did you go on an involuntary vacation for 12 months and just now got back to them? There really are some gorgeous looking stones in that "aged" batch!

Thanks for the clarification, stefan! It’s still impressive that the amethyst didn’t get bruised or worse after a year of tumbling.

I wonder if they would have looked the same at 8 months? Two things surprise me here: 1) the cross survived. 2) you have such patience. Cool experiment.

Well this was an involuntary long tumble. Life got in my way and I had to put barrel checks on hold.
