I don't know if this guy is a member here, but I found this video educational. He goes over the motion needed for proper cabbing.
If anyone else has easier or valuable information on technique please share.

Another cab tickler.

Not too bad. Those are all diamond wheels, though. He says the soft ones are sapphire (corundum). If I had to guess, I'd say he hasn't been cabbing long.

Cutting a cab has been compared to peeling an apple. I think I've seen pictures of a peeled apple with one continuous strip of skin. There are peeling machines that do that. A cab can be domed by rotating the stone on the dop against the wheel changing the angle of the dop until there is only a small area in the center. A continuous motion. I do this for quite a while before even looking at the face. Since I am not great at maintaining even pressure I need to make adjustments but most of the grinding is done first. The video is like he is trying to defuse a bomb. Very little flow in the work.

Anything that makes it easier for you to understand the basics of cabbing will be helpful. You will develop your own techniques as you go along and gain experience.

I noticed he used the center of the wheels for the most part. Should go left to right to save the wheels. As an overview, the video is helpful to new crabbers.
