We got hit with some nasty weather the last couple days, so I thought I'd spend the day inside rather than on the slab saw! I started the day shaping up some preforms on the slant cabber, but decided I wanted to do some wire wrapping the rest of the day. It ended up being a busy day for wire wrapping! LOL Nothing is particularly new with regards to style, but I'm getting a lot more confident with weaving the bails. I even did a couple rabbit ear bails (Robin! ). All of these were done today. Pictures 1-5: Picasso Marble Pictures 6-8: Kaleidoscope Prism Stone Picture 9: Laguna Lace (Matrix only - no fortifications) Pictures 10-11: Coprolite As always thanks for taking a gander and critiques and comments are always welcomed. Yes, you did wrap up a beautiful storm. Your swirls are getting more even, too.

I like how you are playing around with that style according to each stone. In the first one, the angles of the wires and loops plays well with the pattern of the stone. In the latter part of the bunch, you reigned in the loopage to fit the patterns of the stones very welll. That last prism stone in particular is nicely framed by the loops.
Great job all around!

Thanks Brian! I know putting swirls on the face of the cab isn't for everyone, but I really was trying to be cognizant of "where" and when I using the swirls. Thanks for taking notice of that. I need to come up with a new style! LOL

Based on the looks of it, I’d say you are working towards your own style. You’ve made quite a few tweaks since your first one and this batch alone shows several different types. I’m far from an expert on these, but to my eyes, the wraps on this batch are far more complimentary of the stone patterns than your earlier ones.

Woot! Rabbit ears! Easy-peasy, right and you did them very well.
Really nice job on the wraps. I see you've ventured into the two-toned wraps, too.
My favorite out of them all is number 7. Love it!

So when are you going to start your youtube career on how to wrap? Great work and I am envious of the ability and results.

11 beauties! Like I said before, you're a machine! Those weaves look excellent (and hard!) and it's good to see some bunny ears in there! I like them all, but the ones with the hearts are very nice. And you do look like you're coming up with your own style!

I did a thread once after a hurricane. I wrapped by lantern.
I agree with the others that you are developing your own style. I really like these and esp #3. I like the 2 tone. Your work is very neat besides being pretty.

Thanks Robin! I definitely "heard" what you said about the "ears"! I wasn't sure if anyone was going to like that two-tone wrap or not... So when are you going to start your youtube career on how to wrap? Great work and I am envious of the ability and results. Thank you so much! I don't think YouTube would allow hours of cursing and crying to be posted too often! LOL (Just kidding...it's just cursing! ) 11 beauties! Like I said before, you're a machine! Thanks Mike! Kinda like "War Machine"? I was pretty intimidated by the weaves at first, but I kind of got into a groove with doing them. A few little things started making sense with regards to when to "tug and pull" started sinking in. A couple of the bails are too tall, in my opinion. That's because I was having so much "in the groove" doing the weaving, I forgot to check how far I'd gone until it was too late! LOL I did a thread once after a hurricane. I wrapped by lantern.

I don't think I could see what I was doing with a lantern! I have a hard enough time with the "spot-light" I have shining on my workplace now! LOL - I wasn't sure if the copper and the silver would work together or not...but I had to see...I didn't order enough silver, so it's starting to run low already! LOL

Well, in that case... Popcorn sounds really good right now. The movie theater kind...not the microwave kind. Dude! Your getting pretty good at this wrapping! Two thumbs up! Thanks a bunch Mike! I really appreciate that...I still have a bunch of stuff that I should be concentrating on to better it a bit more...but I'll get there.

Wow, you are really in the swing of things now! Even at my best I cannot produce more than one pendant every 2 hours or so. But you are on fire!!
#1 - Probably my favorite just looking at it. You did a lot of work before attempting your bail. Which always makes it nervous, because you don't want to mess up the bail and pull the whole thing apart. Great details on the accent wires. #2 - The cabs themselves are really great! Perfect ovals. It is hard to keep stuff smooth, even after using templates. This is your original formula wrap here. #3 - Original formula wrap, accented by nice swirly stuff. I like the wires that cross each other in the front. Although I know from experience it is hard to keep them down. So I find it really interesting how you had a wire from the back grab each one and hold it down on the sides. Great thinking! #4 - The bail is pretty large on this one! Maybe the stone is more small I am thinking. Again using the wire coming from the back to hold down the sides of the bail accent. Really clever! #5 - He looks like an Owl! I have one that has large circles like this and yours looks a lot like him. What a Hoot! #6 - Repeating the formula on #3. I like how the wrap accents the character of the stone here. Starting to turn in to art now. another very large bail. #7 - Another tricky one. I have a couple where the accent wires cross in the front and are joined and from experience I can say that for me it was difficult keeping the wires from looking too bent or twisted. So yours comes out nice!
#8 - Symmetry is tricky. Is this HARD wire? Or is it half-hard or dead soft. I hope it is hard Silver, because if it is dead soft then your accent wires at the top might get bent over time I fear. Really creative wrap though. Symmetry is the hardest. #9 - What a cool stone! And you saved your best loopty-loops and bail for it too! Nice one. #10, #11, #12 - Ok, I am running out of steam. I didn't realize there would be a dozen! I don't know where you got the idea to bring wires from the back to grab stuff on the sides, but it is really unique and I don't see a lot of it. I have never thought of that I think. I might steal that one some time! Great efforts. Bails on the last two are pretty narrow. Really all three are great efforts though. You have the formula down now.
Great work, and thanks for sharing!

Bill, thank you so much for the comments on each of these! I was really nervous doing the weaved bail at first, but I'm a lot more confident doing them now. I do have to pay attention that I don't route the weave the wrong way, but I've kind of figured out how to "cinch" the weave without bending the wire in the wrong spot. I do work pretty hard at keeping the template shape. I don't do well with free-forms...I know both you and miket do it very well (along with numerous others!). I can't take credit for bringing the back-wire upfront to hold the front wires. I saw that somewhere on YouTube and thought it made sense... I've started working on keeping my weaved bails a bit lower than some of these. I was still learning the "how" to weave part, but forgot to pay attention on the "when" to stop part! LOL Number 5 really does look like an owl! LOL Unfortunately, this wire is soft...I thought that's what I was supposed to use, but now I think I should be using hard... Thank you so much for all the feedback, Bill!!!
