Haven't had my hands on rocks as much as I'd like lately, but found some time this weekend. I've got a wicked fire obsidian addiction so I forced myself to put that aside, well, mostly, and then I sifted through the gravel pile to play with some loose ends. Had to find my patience again, the obsidian cuts so quick and easy I'd forgotten how much more time the harder stuff takes. The Owyhee was a bit disappointing, it took a good shine but not the glassy shine I figured it would (and not for lack of trying)...I kind of expected it to shine like the Willow Creek. Anyway, thanks for taking a look! Willow Creek x3, Mookaite x2, Owyhee, OJ and Crazy Lace. That is a great batch but those last two are really special! The shapes are perfect for the patterns, which are quite amazing.
What type of rock is the third picture? I have something with similar colors that came in a random mix and I was struggling to ID it.

It's Willow Creek, the top 3 are Willow Creek...Thanks for this, I'll edit the post to include names, it slipped by me as I struggled remembering how I posted pics previously.

Yep! Those Willow Creeks and the OJ are "standard setting"!!! That one Owyhee looks like Noreena big time to me! (Not saying it is...just saying to "me"... )

I can definitely see the resemblance to Noreena now that you mention it (and it kind of shined up like it too), but it's definitely Owyhee if you saw the slabette it came from

WOW!!! Superb cabs! Top materials and perfect finish. Looks like cabbing is like riding a bike, it doesn't show you took a long break!

Very cool cabs. Hard to pick a fave, but I’m leaning toward OJ, crazy lace and Willow #3. Have agree with Jason, the colors of the Owyhee are atypical — unusual colors or pattern are something which I always enjoy.

A fine batch, Kevin. The Willow Creeks look terrific but your Crazy Lace is definitely the dandiest doodle.

My skills at IDing need some improvement, and by some I mean a whole lot. I probably would have guessed correctly on two of that batch.
