Mom always said to "keep my little pin clean". The best I can figure out what happened here is I left the machine with the diamond disk attached for a few days and the dirt underneath hardened concrete-like. Going forward, I will remove the disk and clean the pin before calling it quits for the night. I've gotten in the habit of putting a drop of oil (3-in-1 oil) on the threads of my UV-18 before I put the nut holding the bowl on the shaft. I'm not sure if something like this would help as well. (Might be a better suggestion than using Mjollnir to remove the plate! LOL)

greig I hate to be the one to mention this but it needs to be said. What if you cut the pin then replaced it? It would be time consuming but maybe your only option, unless your wife is stronger than you.

My wife is mentally and probably physically stronger than me. ;-) Cutting was an option, but under serious consideration was making it go boom. Thankfully, I got it removed but too late to finish my project for the March forum contest.
