irlcjrohr Added to box:  DSC_3492_Bonus slabs by Stephan T., on Flickr I also dropped the Montana slab, and it broke (hard, but not tough material), so I subbed an adjacent one. The pattern is close, but not identical. The box is now as stuffed as it will get, so no tumbling mix. Hope you don't mind getting the other goodies instead.

stephan package arrived today! You must be really good with jigsaw puzzles. I took them out to look them over and then tried to put them back in the same box. I now have 2 boxes of slabs.

Tetris is the key! I try to make sure that they are immobilized to maximize the chances of intact arrival. I think sometimes the USPS takes rock boxes to military bases first -- for target practice. |

I will concur with your assessment! I've had several boxes arrive from stephan - and I've run into the same problem as you. Once unpacked, I can NEVER get the same amount of material back in the same box! I think he uses his Gandalf powers and "shrinks" the material to get it into a magic box...and once it's taken out of the magic box, the material inflates to regular size thus inhibiting reinsertion into the now defunct magic box!! Yep...that's gotta be it! LOL |
