Hello, Another fundraiser auction here of an assortment of lapidary slabs: DSC_3362_Lot of slabs ready for an auction on RTH by Stephan T., on Flickr Row 1: Stone Canyon jasper x3 Row 2: Brecciated jasper self-collected @ Trinidad Beach (California, not the island), MH PJx2 Row 3: Whale bone (highly agatized), dino bone, mookaite x2 Row 4: Montana agate, nephrite jade (WY, I think) Vesuvianite var. Californite, Golden picture jasper Disclosures: * The Stone Canyon, poppy and golden picture jaspers have fractures to work around * The orbs are pretty subtle in the PJ, but there are some nice patterns and colors * The whale bone, while agatized and stable is not super-colorful (normal for this material), but the cell structure is exquisite * All slabs are 8mm thick Starting bid for this material: $33, or approximately $2.50/slab (winner will send to Tommy ) * Note: I will send the material via SFRB, and fill any empty space with some small pieces of Stone Canyon jasper I have (suitable for cabbing or tumbling). If the highest bid exceeds $75. I will keep this open until the 31st at noon (PDT). Many thanks to jasoninsd for cutting some rough I've been sitting on, making this auction possible.

I don't really need more rocks but I'll start it at $40. Very cool, Stephan.

Hi stephan thanks for doing this! Just for clarification and so I'm not assuming anything - this is intended for the Proboards contribution efforts?

I've held each one of these slabs in my hand. Most of this material is stunning...it's all GREAT, but some are really pretty stunning. That dino bone alone would bring in some pretty good funds just by itself! My wife says that Montana Agate has a blue tone to it. I saw it more tones of grey, but she's convinced it's blue tones...and she's usually right when it comes to the color identification! LOL That Trinidad Beach Brecciated Jasper has some amazing colors and tones in that one. Both Morgan Hill Poppy Jaspers are pretty cool, but that center piece has some amazing colors it it! Great offering on this Stephan!!!

ID revision on the green slab: The white crust on the rough and slabs of this material had me fooled into thinking that this was Wyoming jade (that, and it came in a box labeled "jade"). However, after cabbing up a piece, the "feel" of it, as well as the clouds and dark green spots, and the apple green translucency have made me revise this to Vesuvanite var. Californite (sometimes mislabeled as "California jade"). DSC_3421_Californite freeform cabochon by Stephan T., on Flickr

irlcjrohr USMC15 I have a quick question. My intention was to post the cab in order to show what is possible with the green slab, not to offer it. I do realize, though, that I did not make that clear. So, if you thought I was including it, let me know, and it’ll be part of the package (what the hey... it’s a good cause ). For the sake of clarity, though, I’ll be posting a few more cabs that I made today, just to show what’s possible with the material being offered.

The cab was just for reference. That said $70 it is.

As promised, here are more slabs: two additional Stone Canyon. They do contain unhealed fractures, but those are pretty obvious, and can be easily worked around. DSC_3444_Two slabs of Stone Canyon jasper by Stephan T., on Flickr Words to the wise: The green in Stone Canyon jasper is pretty rare... We are $5 from free shipping....
