One more week, seems like it's been forever. How do they look? Do they have that matte finish? Kind of hard to tell, need a closeup.

OK so my Pix stink (no news there) Lets say that If this were my first batch I woulda called it quits right now- They have a real nice semi-gloss finish- I think I'll just start sending the rocks out to be photographed!

Oooooooo I'm sorry Stefan, I didn't mean that your pics stink. It's just hard to tell and it could be my old monitor too. I'm sorry, I'll go away now ..........

they look pretty shiny to me... for something that just came out of 120/220 and went straight into prepolish.
I bet you're gonna get super shiney rocks in the end. Just as if you have gone through all the grit statges.

Cher- don't go away- the pix stink- I was rushing to get them back into the barrel- and I just snapped a couple of groupies- well I should know better- OK for those interested there is Pictur Jasper (grren and browns), Burro Creek agate, Fossil Agate, some Texas Pet wood, some Jasper/Hematite, some plain old red jasper, and some odds and ends that I've had kicking around- OK I promise that this Saturday if the batch is finished I'll seperate it all and either scan them in or have my wife take the pictures- I wanted to post pix of my 2 dogs but they won't sit still for the shot- and the keep jumping off the scanner when I try to close the lid!

Stefan do you think you would have got the same results if you let them run for 4 weeks instead of 6?

;D Awww, you couldn't really chase me away, I really need my 10 x's daily fix of the rock forum and the good people here. Don't feel bad about your pic, it takes me forever to get a good one. I have a load of agates that have been running for 2 weeks now in 120/200. I was debating on leaving them but I don't have your patience, I'm going to check them today. Got a lot out of 500 that I forgot about and they've been washing for 4 days now.

To answer the questions- 6 weeks was a haul- but worth it- the grind went like this- 2 to 6 weeks in 60/90 (recharged once a week and sorted) 6 weeks in 120/220- no recharge no peek- then into prepolish (1 week) then hopefully a week in polish- I have one barrel dedicated to 60/90 and I just pull out the stuff that's ready and let it pile up- then fire up the 120/220 and let er spin- It worked very well- Next up (probably after I get anothe tumbler) is gonna be a 6 week go in the 60/90- see if I get similiar results (can you imaine- 6 weeks in 60/90 then right to prepolish?) Oh and as far as the camera goes- well I think it's really the operator- I never could do the picture thing! I promise to try to get some good closeups this Saturday
