Since the Covid internet rush I notice that Pinterest has become #1 source of traffic for my business. You folks with beautiful photos of your beautiful workmanship should consider. Pinterest photos have a way of lingering on the internet. I have never created a Pinterest ad campaign other than joining and pinning a half dozen on my products for free. But it was my customer's photo that created a powerful ad for me. After a bunch of looking I think I found the source of Pinterest traffic. It appears to be coming from a single pin that my customer Steph posted in my reviews back in July 2020. When searching "fire pit" in Pinterest her backyard photo comes up in the top 10 of 1000's of Pinterest fire pit photos with a link going to my site. The link takes the interested party directly to my 42 medium fire pit which has been selling like crazy in 2021. I had nothing to do with this chunk of advertising, so I am not sure who to give credit to. Steph will be getting a $500 refund since she posted the key photo and gave me a great review. Crazy crazy internet. My Etsy traffic break down for 2021, social media gone wild: The photo that came up in the top ten of 1000's of fire pits when searching 'fire pit' on Pinterest: And the result of clicking on the Pinterest photo: And a link discussing Pinterest benefits: www.podia.com/articles/guide-to-pinterest-ads

So this blew my mind. It was the first time I was able to find an ad source causing sales out there that was an ad I did not pay for or create. It appears that people may pin and/or click your image to popularity. As long as it continues to be clicked upon or pinned it may have a long life. This is an unusual concept. Images have strong appeal. Reduce the need for a seller to discuss the benefits of his product, let the photo do the work...
Not sure, but I believe this is the Pinterest mode of operandi.

Etsy brought 2,000 times more of my visits than social media.

Pinterest is an interesting and unique social networking site......been around for awhile and we studied it as a Marketing trend (while in school) back in 2012. You'll find much of what I remember on Wiki, I'm sure.
Considered a "pins & board" application, image and visual based search engine..........ex-Goggle and Amazon employees started it as to fill the void for hobby and pass-time enthusiasts........was privately shareholder based (recent search says) went public traded in 2019.
Had and continues to have Copyright and Terms of Service challenges, even their "opt-out" conditions are being challenged and they do not guarantee or make promise paid services are reliable.....!.....they hide behind the "freedom of information" dialog, so far it's worked......lol.....as one is aware, once you start paying for (what was a free) service, everything changes.
Glad to hear you've had good exposure........we have friends, who it took months, before they could disenfranchise from their label.........to this day, they (Pinterest), still tag and expose their product lines......Pinterest, now that they have money, due to public trading, even compliant legal actions are not resolved in a timely manner.....They say their data based history takes time to purge........lol.......on whose dime......?
Just saying.....beware what play-ground you romp in.....there may come a day when to much public exposure becomes detrimental to other objections.......other than making money....lol
