Have never seen this before. Had a pop-up ad asking for input on LPL financial. I have a pop-up blocker on lap top. Run virus, etc. checks daily.
Has anyone else seen this?

Never seen a pop up here. Maybe it is a push notification from your OS. It's possible you picked up some adware or something.

Hi Beth, the easy explanation is the forum exceeded the amount of "ad free" page views that I pay for monthly. It's usually pretty close by the end of the month but this month we went over and there are ad banners at the top and bottom of the forum. The next payment will go out automatically in two days and we will ad free again. The more complicated answer is I've never heard of Proboards allowing pop up ads - it's typically just the two banners I mentioned above. Would you mind capturing a screen shot for me of the pop up on top of the forum and I will ask Proboards if this is something they are allowing or if an advertiser is going rogue.

About 6 months ago I got this pop-up ad on my Windows 7 with Waterfox browser. It only happened a couple of times. A malware scan came up clean.

I am new to this board and never admin'd anything so speaking from ignorance I guess. However, do you do a fundraiser to help pay for those fees or can we just donate to you for that? I know we are running sales to donate to proboards but what about your out of pocket costs? Steven

Steven Thank you Steven - yes we pay a monthly subscription to keep ads off the board for logged in members. I sincerely appreciate the sentiment but at this point I would say the focus on the health of Proboards is the right direction to be pointed in. If I reach the point where I need help I promise I will not be shy about it. Honestly the best way to contribute to the actual forum expenses is for everyone to keep clicking on our Amazon Affiliate link before shopping on Amazon. That source is producing a steady stream of revenue that does fluctuates up and down averages out to cover a large portion of our monthly and yearly expenses, hosting and such.
