love it. I have couple larger LSAs that might take nicely to your approach. Gonna give it a try.

Nice cut on that LSA. I wish I had some to cut.

Oh yeah - that is really nice. Bet you can read the lettering on a light bulb reflected in that shine!
Glad to see someone posting another one that they did just for fun. That dome profile looks great in the angle shown.
Whenever you do an oval like that it will get more "interesting". You can vary the profile radius as you go around the "corners" and ends to make it look however you want for a given length and width. The fun starts with making all the corners and ends blend smoothly and symmetrically.
Will look forward to seeing more of whatever you cut. You turn out some really nice ones.

Thanks! Means a lot. Just noticed you can see my wall clock in it and my sweatshirt hanging on the wall under it lol. It's super easy to see the imperfections with the round dome so I might try the oval next time.

Nice cut on that LSA. I wish I had some to cut. They're a special find. Luckily you can usually pick one or two up in the neighbor's landscaping rock around here lol!

We used to have a local show around here and there was this old guy who always showed his LSA collections (NOT FOR SALE!). I got to talking to him about collecting and he INSISTED that these were collected along Lake Erie and Ontario beaches as the upper lakes all drain into Lake Erie and Ontario. He actually shared his collecting locations with me (public beaches so no real access issues). He insists that he would find at least one every time out. I have searched for years and NEVER found any. I think he is sitting in Heaven having a good laugh every time I go beach combing! His wife backed up his stories and his hunting locations. Also told me right after a bad storm was the best times as the lakes deposit more goodies when they are all stirred up.

Time to learn metalsmithing ... Yeah good idea! I've been trying to get some friends interested in the metalsmithing part but no takers yet. I tried to get my wife interested in wire wrapping so I wouldn't have to learn it, but she didn't bite on any of the hints. LOL I thought I commented on this thread! This is a fantastic cab! The shape is great and the stone itself is a great one!
