Absolutely love number 4, but they are all very nice. Both the rocks and wraps.

Not much to say besides excellent cabs and wraps...I'm picking the lace as my favorite of this bunch! 🙂 Thanks Mike! I'm really kinda partial to that one as well! Another great batch, Jason! Everything looks so well done and that lace is perfect. I do like the tubular wrap #4. Thanks Brian! Yep...those two are my favorites too! Very nice work! Love the cab with the tubes but the first wrap is my favorite. I am curious...do you start wrapping with a plan or do you just wing it as you go? Thanks Bill! I wish I could say I had a plan...but it's a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kinda plan! LOL OK, now that we’ve got that straightened out... I hate to mess you all up again but I think that's actually called Hornitos poppy jasper ain't it? Unless there's a strain from Mariposa that I've not heard of which is entirely possible. Oh great...just when I thought I was getting closer to understanding it, the rules get changed! LOL Beautiful cabs and wraps jasoninsd ! I particularly love the the Mariposa Thanks Tommy! I really appreciate that...but I think that's Hornitos! I hate to mess you all up again but I think that's actually called Hornitos poppy jasper ain't it? Unless there's a strain from Mariposa that I've not heard of which is entirely possible. Hornitos is in Mariposa County, so both names apply. I’m told by the folks from whom I received it, and also a former miner of the stuff that Hunters Valley PJ is another aka Maybe I should just label stuff "Poppy Jasper"...that way I'd be safe! LOL Absolutely love number 4, but they are all very nice. Both the rocks and wraps. Thanks Tela! I'm not going to lie. It's going to be extremely hard to let that #4 go when the time comes! LOL

Jason, since you are new to this, let me give you some advice: Hold onto your first wrap. Resist the urge to pitch it. LOL!! As you progress, you can look back on it and see how far you've come. And, if one really, really strikes your fancy, like #4, KEEP IT. You WILL regret it after it's gone, ask me how I know.....

jasoninsd, I really like the #5 cab with the water lines. I think the wrap is well balanced for the stone.

Tela that is some wickedly great advice...and I do believe I will heed your advice to a "T"! I've made several cabs now that I have fallen in love with the pattern in the rock...and I know there's no replacing that particular piece. I was trying to figure out how I was going to let go of them...I'm glad to hear from someone else that I shouldn't feel guilty about it! jasoninsd, I really like the #5 cab with the water lines. I think the wrap is well balanced for the stone. Thank you so much for this! That one is really fun to look at through the loupe! And I agree with you about the wrap...not too much or too little on that one.

jasoninsd Tommy If you want to hear something REALLY depressing... Years ago, I was told by a former owner of a claim that some of Hunters Valley/Hornitos poppy jasper is still being mined... for "commercial products." It is being crushed into gravel for tar paper. Additionally, it also used to be the material that the Yosemite Valley Railroad used to grade the beds for the tracks. Much of that is now drowned under Lake McClure. Let us hope that it was the low-grade stuff.

It's like employing a Quantum Physicist to be a fry cook at a fast food restaurant...and to top it off, only paying them minimum wage.

I like the bails on all of these. The 2nd one really accents the rock a lot. It is a nice rock too. 3rd one is nice because the color of the wire really accents the color found in the material. It really pops. Number 5 might be my favorite if not #4. For some reason the whole piece is really cohesive. You have amassed a great deal of really nice cabs over the years! And it is pretty awesome that you get to turn them in to complete pieces now using your new skills!

And it is pretty awesome that you get to turn them in to complete pieces now using your new skills! Thank you so much Bill! I'm not too sure I didn't make a mistake with Number 2. It's a HUGE cab! I'm not too sure someone will ever want to wear that or not. Number 4 will probably always be in my possession. I don't know that I could bear getting rid of that one. LOL My dad was over today and kept picking up and looking at Number 5. It really is striking in person. As far as me "amassing" cabs over the years...I just started making cabs in October and that was with a dremel which I made a few with the dremel for about a month. I didn't get my slant cabber until late November. So, I've only been cabbing for a little over 4 months...and wire wrapping about 6 weeks now. But I will agree I have amassed some nice cabs during the last 4 months.
