These are just a few I happened to have done already. I outlined the pencil in ink to show up better. Most of them came out pretty close.
Most of my pages are dirty from steel wool, etc and full of notes and sketches.
Orbicular jasper with a crazy shape and some weaving. The sharp tip is reinforced.
Chrysocolla tenorite and dioptase (?) copper Beautiful gemmy angelskin bustamite in silver with pearls Imperial jasper copper Mary Ellen jasper - the idea was create a trellis look for the roses super nice red jasper in silver Royal Sahara Jasper in copper Priday moss thunderegg in copper larimar in copper with weaving
Hope you found this interesting.

I think there's a smidgen of jealousy on my part. I don't feel I have the artistic aspect to my personality in any way shape of form to visualize something beforehand in order to sketch it out like this. I find this NO different than an artist who sketches out the painting or sculpture before even starting the piece. I am truly in awe of people like you who can "visualize" the finished piece of art beforehand.

I have to be in the right frame of mind to design something. Sometimes it can be very frustrating when the muse alludes me- like it has been lately.

I do understand needing to have the right frame of mind to do these things. Have comfort in the fact that you do have A muse...mine are just "amusing" at times!

Those are beautiful, Tela! Once again, it is so cool to be able to see your original vision and how it plays out in reality. I love how you use negative space in some of your designs, like that red jasper.
Your work is superb!

You've shown me this before and it always amazes me, Tela...I don't know how you do it. I've attempted it but my brain doesn't seem to work that way. Lately I've been able to look at a stone and sort of come up with a "design" right before I wrap it, but designing ahead of time? Nope, huh uh, no way, not me. I'm jealous. Thanks for posting these!

Thanks for sharing your designs with your finished pieces. It gives the impression that First Design = Finished Design, but I assume that you musty generate a few preliminary sketches before you settle on the final one.

Actually, more often than not, the first is what I go wiith. But I think about it a long time.

These are all beautiful! Wow I never thought about sketching the wrap out first and then trying to do it after. Usually I just pick up a rock at random and see what comes to mind. I should try this some time. Because it can plan out the whole thing better.
I find the first one interesting because I can't imagine how the beads on the sides are affixed to the frame. Maybe they are little separate units that simply slide over the wire and stack. But they accent the piece really well. I like the 2nd one because it looks like something that I might do (10 years in the future, lol). Number 4 is my favorite. Too bad the pictures are so small, as I can't really tell how any of the work is done on it. I like the bail on the Moss Thunderegg one. The style of the wrap really compliments the stone well. I like the Sahara Jasper wrap a lot too. These are all really creative and end up looking a lot like art pieces. You use thicker gauge wire than I do, mostly. I sure would like to be able to think up these great designs myself some day.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot for the feedback- always so thoughtful.
