OK, I'm gonna say out front- these pics are awful. Every one of these looks much better than the picture. My dining room halogen lights are unkind. Anyway... I haven't cabbed in a long time.
The other day I stared at 9:30 and quit at 3:00. A few were ones I just had to do some finish work on, but most were done that day.
I finally got a new 1200 wheel- first one in years. That really helped. These all have very nice polishes which isn't evident in the pics. I also did the backs of some of them for the first time. (got a 600 spin on, too) (Oh, and don't mind my dirty, pruny hands. I had just finished cabbing.)
Mc Dermitt thunder egg from some I bought offa Tommy . This is the best one yet and comes in at 44mm. This is a piece that broke off one of the primo slabs I got offa @hookedonrocks . That fracture, which is barely visible in person is extremely shallow and is only on the surface. OJ not a great one, but I like it. This was a scrap and I thought- That'll make a nice cab. purple passion plume agate a big freeform. That isn't a fracture in it- it is totally healed and looks fine in person. 53mm almost the limit of my genie. crazy lace- not crazy about it This one is soooo cool in person- The red is outlined with a very thin line of hematite. Looks really awesome at the right angle. Morocco orbicular agate Flame agate- a few flames breached the surface, but it looks much better in person gem bone- the cell walls are pyrite prudent man agate- can't remember which vein. I never saw the line until I took the picture. It can't be felt with my nail. really nice Aussie rhodonite- all I had was this small piece. Desperately searching for more. It's so hard to get now and I am crazy about the color combo. freeform of some nice agate- unknown location but betting on West Texas.
Thanks for looking!

whoa someone was busy! Musta been in the air. I just finished 4 today and 6 more just need to hit the 14K pad. Pics hopefully tomorrow as it is so overcast here today. Oh and that Flame Agate is mesmerizing. I have a small slab of it somewhere in the bin. Gonna have to dig it out .

Great work Tela. Those are amazing. Leaning toward the crazy lace, purple passion and Dino bone, but the rest are not far behind.
Dino bone with pyrite... would’ve thunk it... candidate for tha April contest, perhaps?

Very nice cabs Tela! I have to say my two favorites out of the bunch are the Thunderegg and the Dino Bone. That pyrite running through that bone is something pretty special!

Gorgeous! That dino bone with pyrite is very cool!
For a scrap, that OJ is beautiful. It reminds me of the flowers in a mille fiore piece.

Nice looking material there. I didn’t know Australian rhodonite was hard to find/expensive. I’m pretty sure I have a bunch of slabs of this.

Wow, love the gem bone. Sadly ain't nothing like close up photo to bring out all this little defects and polish catching spots in a cab. Rock are usually not perfect. Just something one had to accept.
