I bought a 20 ounce piece of lions den Morgan Hill piece on ebay this February. I was planning to slab it with the 10 inch saw, but couldn't help nibbling on it with the trim saw. Eleven ounces were left and there was a nub from an incomplete cut. I decided to whack it with a wrench and this was the result. The piece had a lot of fractures showing so having it fall apart provided direction on how to cut it. I slabbed the pieces with the trim saw and marked the remaining fractures.

Mother nature does make the decision easy sometimes. Nice poppies!

Holy Poppies Batman! Those are going to make some amazing cabs! I try not to let it bother me when I see a nice pattern for a cab, but the fractures say otherwise! I totally agree with "whacking" the slabs (one way or another) to see what's left to actually work with.
