Owyhee trim saw preforms - 5 cabs completed

A couple more preforms. The facing cut on the preform on the left showed a nice pattern. I slabbed it and ground down the face to expose the pattern. I like to center patterns, but this one is what it is.

I have sore back muscles (not spinal) from doing to much work with bad posture. I need to work more upright adn bring the cab to my eye instead of my eye down to the cab. I did three to take it easy on my back. I need to very through working on the Owyhee to avoid having to go back to remove scratches. The thunderegg finished different than I expected.

The original polished thunderegg looked like this:



I made 3 slabs and this cab was from the reverse side of the face. It is typical when material is slabbed it becomes more translucent. The cab is 6.5mm in height and it might have been less translucent if I had a cut a thicker slab.
