Sliced side, unlit. Sliced side, backlit. Back (rough) side backlit. This would be a cool shadowbox display piece with backlighting. Cannot really tell how thick the tall, plant looking areas are. Am considering putting this in the flat lap bin. Try using flat lap to grind off some of sliced side. Then polish to semi-gloss finish. What do you think?

Yes I would flat lap it. I think the "ferns" will show better once the face is polished up a bit.

I think it's a candidate for a vibe tumble. I did this with two Fairburn slices I had. One was a smooth double-sided slab and the other was an end cut like yours. I really did like what it did for the one like yours.
