Something a little different. Those with a keen eye may have spotted them in the background here and there. I gave myself a cutoff threshold of 1kg for whether I take weekly photos or not, mostly because it is a bit time intensive. So what I have here is a piece of Red Tiger's Eye I picked up at a show in CO back in February 2020, and a Chevron Amethyst from The Rock Shed. They've been running on and off this past year before I made the push to finish them. They rolled together through coarse in the same QT12 barrel, then once it was time for finishing I spit them up, each in a separate 6lb barrel filled with sacrificial quartz running side by side on the same base. They ran for 12 weeks total, 8 in coarse, 1 in medium, 1 in prepolish, and 2 in polish. First up, the Red Tiger's Eye: Initial 452g, Final 291g (35.6% loss). Camouflaged --------------------------------------------------------------- Next up, the Chevron Amethyst: Initial 972g, Final 714g (26.5% loss). I couldn't really match up the initial orientation that well, so meh.

Those turned out great!
I have to confess that we will be starting a large (for us) tumble inspired by these posts. I have a nice chunk of imperial jasper (at least I think that is what it is) that I just can't bring myself to cut up, so bigger tumble it is. I think it is in the 300g size range, so not really all that big. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Your large tumbles just amaze me! I really do appreciate you taking the time to post all of these! I love that Red Tigers Eye.
