SO, some of you might remember all of my screwups when I tried to boost the Jewelry Auction for Proboards.
Well, there was one more and I'm calling myself out because Jeff ( rockstock) was too nice to.
In my rush to get a picture up in time I posted a picture of a wrapped Fairburn, which was nice- but I had forgotten that I groove-wrapped that particular stone and it didn't look good. I sent Jeff an extra Fairburn pendant and told him that I would see if I could fix the one that I mistakenly posted. I'm showing all of the stages this particular stone has been through, which are a lot!
And I want to publicly thank Jeff again for being so kind and understanding!
Here's the first wrap
And the re-wrap, plus a close-up of how the edges chipped when I grooved it
And finally the wrap that I just finished. The stone is a little smaller, I had to dremel off the grooves, re-shape it a bit after it broke and finally give it a run through the vibe.

Looks great! It always feels like a lot of work to redo a cab and yours turned out great. Love the wrap!

Mike, that is just fantastic! I have a have an Autumn Leaf Jasper that I grooved too high on the girdle and chipped the edge a bit...so I have to redo it a bit, similar to this one. I love that "druzy" pocket there in the middle of the fortifications.

Hopefully I find more and can resurrect Fairburn Friday! 😁

There is a saying: There are two kinds of mountain climbers, those who never fall; and those who recover well. Being able to save a booboo sometimes takes more talent than being able to do one well the first time. More importantly the person who is able to see and acknowledge mistakes is the person you want to work and play with. Nice work.
