The latest in my series of tap handles for the local brewery. Picasso marble, 4.25" x 1.75" x 1.25" give or take. This one felt a bit different to grind, maybe softer than the last ryholite pair, and for once did not make a ton of red mud. I will say that the 30 grit sintered wheel is earning its keep with these big pieces. What an interesting color combination on that Picasso. Well done once again!

That's better than tapping his love handles! (Just sayin'!) LOL nik - I too love your tap handles! The Picasso Marble I've worked is some of the softest material I've worked so far. I haven't worked any since I got the new 8000 and 14,000 disks, so I'm curious to see what kind of a polish I can get on it with those.

Thanks to everybody, I will get to see it installed during lunch today. nik - I too love your tap handles! The Picasso Marble I've worked is some of the softest material I've worked so far. I haven't worked any since I got the new 8000 and 14,000 disks, so I'm curious to see what kind of a polish I can get on it with those. I would guess that the hardness of this chunk is somewhere around 4.5-5, a good knife will scratch it, but mild steel will not. It seems to take a fairly good polish, although I stopped at 8000 on this one, I just liked how the surface felt. I was cutting a big cab from the same block and it took a really nice polish, aside from the little bit of spalling I got on the 3000 when I ran out of water. Back to the 220 with that one...
