I haven't been taking a lot of individual pictures of cabs recently...some, but not each and every one. And lately, I haven't been doing any wire wrapping. Up to this point, I wrapped most of the cabs I had made which were able to be wrapped. So, I've focused on making more cabs recently. Obviously, this isn't as many cabs as some of you folks have on hand, but I suppose this has to be close to a third of all the cabs I've made so far. LOL Just a group pic of cabs waiting in the wings to get their "Sunday Best" put on here one of these days.

Nice collection, Jason! They're out of the tub, toweled down, and waiting for you to dress them up. I think I hear a chorus of "Me first!!"

class cabb'n Jase real shine lots to comment on the snow peak mountain keep that around Thanks Ed! There's a bunch in this batch that I'm going to have a real hard time letting go of them! Nice collection, Jason! They're out of the tub, toweled down, and waiting for you to dress them up. I think I hear a chorus of "Me first!!" Thanks Gary! I've sat down at the table several times thinking I was going to start wrapping a couple. I'd grab one and think I'd start with that one...then look at a different one and think, "Well, maybe that one", and then I'd look at a couple others and think they'd be better off groove wrapped...then I'd put them all back in the pile, shut off the light and walk away! LOL - Apparently it's paralysis through analysis! LOL Lots of really nice looking cabs in there, Jason. Can't wait to see them wrapped! Thanks Robin! I really want to get them wrapped too...but haven't "felt" it lately. I asked my dog the other night if he wanted to knock out a few for me. He said, "I would, but I'm all thumbs!" I think he's a liar...

I see what you are doing. Trimming a shape before tumble. Kudos! Pendants for sure.

I think he's a liar... Don't sweat it. I haven't wrapped anything in at least a year, maybe longer. Sometimes I just don't have the inspiration in me. Other times I'd rather smith instead. Playing with fire is more fun.

Nice bunch! I'm kind of in the opposite place. I look through bags and bags of cabs that I've made and have a hard time finding a decent one to wrap.

Great looking batch of cabs! I gotta say, one of those does not quite look like any of the others. What is that light green/turquoise cab in the middle of the right side?

Epic! That's a lot of cabs and shiny, too. Now do this.... eenie, meanie, miney, mo........ Thanks Tela! That might be what it boils down to when I need to get started! LOL I really want to get them wrapped too...but haven't "felt" it lately. I asked my dog the other night if he wanted to knock out a few for me. He said, "I would, but I'm all thumbs!" Playing with fire is more fun. Has it really been that long? Holy smokes! (That was rhetorical. ) That's really what has been the problem lately. I just haven't "felt" it. However, I do know that when I do get in the mood, it'll by like a whirlwind! LOL Nice bunch! I'm kind of in the opposite place. I look through bags and bags of cabs that I've made and have a hard time finding a decent one to wrap. Thanks Mike! Whatever! I like all your cabs! Dude! You're a machine Forgive me if I missed a thread or three but are you still using a dremel on those? Either way it's very nice work sir. Thanks Tommy! No, I stopped using the Dremel and am now just doing all these with hand files! I got a Hi-Tech Slant Cabber back in November and have been using that ever since. I have all the admiration in the world for miket who accomplishes what he can with the Dremel! Wow someone has been busy! Amazing batch! Thanks Stefan! I need to get "busier" and get these dang things wrapped though! LOL Great looking batch of cabs! I gotta say, one of those does not quite look like any of the others. What is that light green/turquoise cab in the middle of the right side? Thanks Brian! You found the "Waldo" of the bunch! LOL - That's a piece of Amazonite which I think came from Mel ( Mel) quite a while ago...I stress "I think" that's where it came from...

Daaaang jasoninsd ! I stop reading for awhile and you're just blowing me away with your cabs! I especially lovelovelove the turtella, the thunder eggs, and the crazy lace. That turquoise looking one is amazonite with what I believe to be m....maganese? mica? (I knew this at one time....) providing the black specs in it (though doesn't appear to be many in yours, luckily!). I'm so happy to see it here because I have a slice on my bench of the same waiting for me to cab it but haven't been able to decide on a shape. Great job!!

I have to say the Thundereggs are my favorites. That amazonite was one of the weirdest feeling rocks I've worked. It may have been my imagination, but it came across as feeling "plastic-y" when grinding it. I don't know how else to describe it other than that...definitely not a hard stone...but not real soft.

Great bunch of cabs. I'm in the same boat so to speak, haven't wrapped in several months and just not getting the "feeling" either. I might try the eenie meenie miney moe method. Here's hoping we all get our mojos back soon.

Do you know what the black rocks near the top center are with the shells in them? I've been running my first batch for a couple of months now and it includes several of what I think is that same rock. It's just a bunch of mixed rough from the Rock Shed that I've been tumbling to get some experience. But those particular rocks don't seem like they would ever get smooth. There's lots of rough, kinda porous material all around the shells. I ground them down a lot and got them well rounded, but they have those rough spots all over them. I want to try and polish them because I think they look really cool (I mean, it's full of little fossils which is awesome!) but I'm worried the rough spots will scratch up other rocks. So for now, I've just set them aside.

drocknut - Thanks Diane! I even tried one potato, two potato and that didn't help either! LOL - Maybe it's just the weather that's causing "mass not wanting to do it"... waterboysh - Those are Turritella Agates. They can be an absolute pain to tumble as well as cab. The matrix can be really prone to pits and fractures. Personally I don't believe they would do any damage to any of the other rocks - Turritella is relatively soft.

Glad you told me about that, I was gonna try one potato, two potato next but since it didn't help you I don't think it would help me either ;-) I am going to blame the weather, seems like a logical place to lay blame, plus the weather doesn't complain when you blame it for anything ;-)
